Collectibles / Militaria / WW II (1939-45) / Original Period Items / Germany / Hats & Helmets
This is a very nice WWII German Model 1942 helmet that remains in excellent condition. The shell is painted in the standard dark green, rough combat finish and is without dents or damage. The interior is with a complete and undamaged brown leather liner. All the fingers are intact with one size marked with the liner size ’57 centimeters’. The dome string at the top of the fingers is missing. There is only the slightest wear at the rim where the leather folds over the medal helmet band. The original cord at the tips of the liner fingers remains in place. There is an inked dome stamp partially visible in the dome, but it is hard to read. The three liner rivets appear to have never been out of the shell since the day the helmet left the factory. The rear interior of the skirt is marked, ‘hkp 64’ and indicating manufacture by Sachsische Emallier-und Stanzwerke AG in Lauter and a shell size of 64 centimeters. Below this is the helmet lot number, ‘16432’. This is an extremely fine example of an M42 combat helmet and one that is in excellent, undamaged condition. 8191
