WW2 German M35 M40 Stahlhelm Steel Combat Helmet & Liner DUG RELIC

This WW2 German M35 M40 Stahlhelm Steel Combat Helmet is in fair, "dug relic" condition but has had a protective finish applied. It is difficult to positively identify which model helmet this example is, however there does appear to be the remnant of a two-piece air vent hole and for that reason it strongly appears to be an M35 instead of an M40. Rust pitting is deep but the classic shape and profile of this helmet remains. The original liner and pins are intact. A dull polyurethane finish appears to have been applied to seal and stabilize the helmet as well as to help stave off further deterioration.  While this helmet is far from a "textbook" example it still displays very nicely amongst other period items. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
