The helmet pot is in okay condition, it was obviously worn by someone at some time. I believe it was painted for USN fire control (that is a guess based on similar helmets I’ve seen but i needs more research.) It does does not have chinstraps but the swivels are there and in good condition. The inside of the helmet is your typical m1 helmet. The liner is in good condition, the bands on the inside will need 1 or 2 new clips to reattach fully but otherwise it’s really good, it has the hole on the front which all ww2 helmets had for an officer to pit their rank insignia. There is some remains of gray paint, not sure why but over the years it has mostly receded to reveal the WW2 green color that all liners originally were painted with. There is a lot of details to this helmet so if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to send me a message, I’ll get back to all of them before the bid ends.
