WW1 OR WWII GERMAN HELMET SCANDINAVIAN ITALY? METAL LEATHER LINER

Please note I am not an expert on World War I World War II artifacts like this  at all , so all this information is just my opinion , you'll have to be the judge of this fantastic collector's item for yourself . I believe this is either a World War I or World War II helmet . This could be a German, Scandinavian, Italian , or another country's helmet. . I'm just really not sure. I do believe this  is a very rare helmet , and would be a great addition for any collectors collection. This rare helmet is missing the front badge, and has scratches, , missing paint, missing parts, but it does have the leather insert, which I believe is original. I took the pictures with and without a flash, so you can see the different color , and the different look of this fantastic collector's item. Please note I did not clean this item up at all, I didn't even wipe off the dust , dirt ,or anything else , this is exactly how I found it, all I did is take pictures. You can restore this helmet, or leave it alone and add it to a really cool collection, but either way I think this is a fantastic find. This item was found on the east coast of the United States, the Maryland area to be exact. I got this from an old Civil War and World War I World War II collector. If you have any information of what this helmet is , I would love to hear from you, so I can learn some information about this rare helmet. Now this could be an artillery helmet , Infantry , tank helmet, just not really sure.. I believe it may have some original paint, but I can't be for sure , that's just my opinion , but either way what a fantastic item , and a fantastic find .  Please also note again I did NOT clean this up at all , I didn't even wipe off the dust , this is exactly the way I found it , which is fantastic. This has a really cool leather liner inside which I believe is original .... I could find no markings on the helmet at all, they may be there , it just might be under the paint, or under the leather  liner, either way this would be a fantastic gift for any collector or any collection.
