RARE: Early Vietnam Era US Army M1 Ground Troop Combat Helmet "Steel Pot" w/Mitchell Camouflage Cover - Firestone Liner Complete - Early 1960's Vintage - Very NICE Condition Up for sale is an Early Vietnam Era M1 Ground Troop Combat Helmet.  More commonly known as the "Steel Pot" .  This is a Complete M1 Helmet.  It is used, see photo's for Condition.  This helmet consists of the following components:

Rear Seam, Swivel Bale, Steel Pot, with chin straps very nice condition.  OD Green Paint no major dents or damage.

Late Firestone liner, w/OD Green canvas suspension,  Excellent Condition with OD Green Paint.  It has the Firestone  logo, which does not show well in the photo's.

OD Green Canvas suspension Excellent Condition, no corrosion on the metal clips.

Leather sweat band w/all clips Excellent Condition, leather is soft and pliable.  Early DSA Contract Number with no discernible contract date.  Making this an early 1960's vintage.

Nape Strap, Excellent Condition.  It has the early DSA Contract number with no discernible contract date, making this an early 1960's vintage.

Mitchell Camouflage Helmet Cover, minor fading, some tears and tatters on the rear, has evidence of a repair, NICE Condition.  Again early FSN contract number with no discernible contract date.  Early 1960's vintage. Original OD Green helmet band.  No visible markings on the helmet band. Complete Vietnam Era M1 Combat Helmets are getting very collectible.
