USAF B-9B Winter Flyer's Helmet Cap, Air Force Cold Weather Hat Faux Fur

This is a winter cap that was used by the US Air Force for aviators. Designed to keep airmen warm at high altitudes with frigid temperatures, this hat has two large flaps that can be used to warm the sides of the wearers face and fold up and out of the way when not in use. The flaps are lined with faux fur, as is the front of the cap. The nylon shell is water and wind resistant and unlined, for wear under flyers helmets. The lack of lining in the main part of the hat makes it less bulky then typical hats in this style, and if you order a size up you can easily fit your favorite beanie underneath is for added warmth if needed. Overall, this is a great hat for frigid temperatures whether you’re flying a plane, hiking, camping, working or just out and about! This hat is new and unissued.
These hats run a bit large to accommodate layering, so if you plan on wearing yours directly on your head it may be a good idea to size down. For instance, an XL hat will fit a 7 3/4 head with a little room to spare if worn without anything underneath.

Wind Resistant – This is wind resistant which means that it helps break the wind and keep the wearer warmer.

Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.

Faux Fur – There is faux fur included on the item for additional insulation.
