US ARMY 3rd INFANTRY COMPANY OFFICER 1881 PRIVATE PURCHASE DRESS

AN ORIGINAL AND RARE US ARMY REGULATION 1881 DRESS HELMET FOR A COMPANY GRADE OFFICER (RANK OF 2ND LIEUTENANT TO CAPTAIN) IN THE 3 rd INFANTRY AS USED DURING THE INDIAN WAR AND SPANISH AMERICAN WAR. THIS HELMET IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND IS CORRECT AND ORIGINAL WITH THE PROPER DEVICES. THE EAGLE PLATE IS MADE OF TWO PARTS AND IS CORRECT. THE HELMET IS UNMOLESTED. THE SHAPE IS SUPERB WITH MINOR CRACKS ON THE LEATHER BOTTOM EDGING BUT NONE OF IT IS MISSING. THE SIZE IS  6 AND 7/8 AS SHOWN ON THE TAG.
