US 1898 Indian War Cavalry Staff Dress/Parade Helmet With Horsehair

For sale is an original Indian War cavalry staff dress/parade helmet. This is a black felt cavalry pattern helmet. It has brass side buttons embossed with the cavalry crossed sword insignia. On the front is a cast brass Army Eagle and Shield insignia. The helmet has a black horse hair plume indicating staff and is edged in patent leather with a russet leather sweatband on the inside.
