Replica Stainless Houndskull Or Pigface Bascinet Helmet w/ Aventail 14th Century. First off, I understand what is probably your main concern with this item as I have often run into the same problem, but the one pictured above is the exact one you will receive, not a sloppy look alike. I am selling it to make room in my collection, the wife gave me a limit on collectibles and I figured I could let this one go. The helmet is stainless steel (16 guage I believe), and has a stainless steel chainmail aventail which extends about (22cm) 9in from the bottom ridge of the helmet with padding underneath as well as inside the helmet. The entire helmet including the mail and padding are in great shape. It also has brass embelishing along the edges of the visor. I think it's probably a size medium to large because it's a bit loose on me and I don't have a very small head. The helmet dose have a small opening between the visor and aventail when closed. The helmet is about 29cm (11.5in) tall, about 34cm (13.5in) visor tip to back, and about 19cm (7.5in) wide internally from ear to ear. I can not guarantee the strength or structural integrity of this helmet under high pressure or impact. Feel free to make me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have in regards to this item.
