EXTREMELY RARE GROUP! You will never find a grouping like this one!Jacket is approximately 40-42” in the chest and is in used, good condition. Trousers are approximately 34” in the waist and are definitely NEW OLD STOCK! These were never worn and have maintained all creases that indicate they are in brand new, unworn condition. Obviously these trousers were not utilized with the jacket. See pictures for reference. The real gem is the helmet and helmet cover that you won’t find anywhere nowadays. Helmet is medium in size or about 7 1/4. The helmet cover has some spotting. The chin strap is fully in tact but leather has some stiffness due to being over 60 years old. The liner is in very good condition and the leather remains in tact. Padding inside helmet between liner and metal has some areas that show signs of crumbling; however this EXTREMELY RARE helmet is an outstanding addition to this already rare offering. The internet provides the following information:“West German Bundeswehr Splinter Camouflage (1956)December 25, 2020Camouflage, Early Cold War (1945 - 1968), Germany, West Germany/BundeswehrThe newly-formed West German bundeswehr briefly used this WW2-derived splinter camouflage smock shortly after West German reearmament in 1955 under Konrad Adenauer in response to escalating Cold War tensions. This camouflage pattern was only produced between February 1956 – February 1957 and was withdrawn from service in 1960, likely due to cost and its excessively Wehrmacht-like appearance (source: https://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/forum/ken-jasper-international-militaria-forums/bundesrepublik-deutschland-1949-present/966033-early-bundeswehr-uniform).”
