This Buy it Now auction is for an old United States Military M-1917 Combat Helmet. This "Brodie" Helmet is based on the British helmet design. This is the American version. This helmet still has the interior "guts", and they haven't rotted and fallen out of the helmet yet. The leather chin strap has ripped off and become lost to the ages. Old leather dries out, cracked, and falls apart really easily. It is a miracle that this helmet still has any of the interior parts. This is an actual Antique item over 100 years old. This item has sun fading, dirt stains, scratches, dents, paint loss, oxidation to the metal parts, dried out old cracked leather, etc. This old war relic is no longer in the perfect condition that it once was in the day it was originally first manufactured. This item is both damaged from having been used, and damaged from being old. Time slowly destroys old things. This item can be mailed in a Large size USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. I show some Black & White reference book photos that have information about this Antique War Relic Collectable. The reference books, and the head the helmet is modeled on, are not offered for sale. Only the old WW1 era M-1917 Combat Helmet is offered for sale.
