A Very Fine And Rare High Peaked Italian Morion-Cabasset Of One Piece Construction Circa 1580.
10 and 1/2 inches high and weighing 3.380 pounds this rare and elegant morion-cabasset has 17 brass and steel lining rosettes decorating the rim. The brim is decorated with a piecrust border, The peak at the apex of the skull is pronounced and contributes to the fine form of this most attractive helmet.
Condition of this fine element of armour is very fine. Exterior with little or no pitting, smooth metal with lovely delamination at extreme peak and another long delamination extending 3 inches up from the brim.
A 40 caliber hole at extreme front of one brim peak. This is one of the handsomest helmets in our collection and we are pleased to offer it to our buyers at this time. Do not miss this one!
