Great example of a 1960's German Firefighter's Protective Helmet. Machine stamped with DIN 14940 meaning industry approved, these helmets painted black were made of metal and deemed unsafe to the firefighter for potentially conducting electricity. In 1970 they were changed out to a non steel structure. The leather webbing and chin strap are in great shape with the outer shell showing typical signs of scratches and dings. The personal hand written name is a nice touch but not uncommon. These helmets are quit scarce and would be a plus to your display.
