Late 1800's solid brass fireman's helmet. I believe it is from France or Germany, maybe another foreign country. It measures app. 11 inches front to back by 6 1/2 inches side to side by app. 7 1/2 inches tall. Can is for size comparison only. The leather strap is brittle and broken with polish residue all over. The liner and strap are stained and dirty. The brass edge trim is just starting to come loose at the end where they join. Various dings and dents that should be expected from an old helmet. There is a raised shied in front with an "M" on it that I could not identify. From a Northern Maine estate sale. Please look at the pictures for more details as they are also part of the description. The shipping cost is clearly listed. Although I ship daily, Please know that the Postal process has been delayed from RECENT CIRCUMSTANCES and can take longer than usual.
