This is an antique Second French Empire fire helmet model 1855 split in half for display hanging on a wall or on a shelf. The lacquered brass helmet has the crowned Imperial French eagle of Emperor Napoleon III on the “Srs. Pompiers” helmet plate. The helmet stands 10 inches high to the top of the comb by 11 1/4 inches wide and approximately 3 1/2 inches deep. They can be displayed hanging upside down as wall pockets, hanging with the comb up, or on a shelf. I prefer hanging comb up. The halves are lacquered and need no polishing. As antiques, they have minor imperfections such as slight bends and shallow dents, but generally, they are very good condition. Included is a feather plume. Enjoy! Domestic Priority Mail $25.00.
